Geometry and Topology

Description

This year, the course covers the following topics:

  • General topology, including topological spaces, compactness, connectedness.
  • Algebraic topology, including the fundamental group, covering spaces and homology
  • Differential geometry, concentrating on the study of curves and surfaces.
  • Manifolds, including an introduction to smooth manifolds and vector bundles.
